DIGESTING PKNL vol.06

(ENG) On the 13th of May took place the 6th edition of Pecha Kucha Lisbon. More than 500 people went to EDP Foundation to assist, once more, to an eclectic group of presentations that relied, among others, on a 6m40s rock concert, a graphic project about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, an electronic music class, small robots looking for light, tree houses, the process of conceiving and setting up a fashion show, winged horses mosaic, love mismatches... For the first time in PechaKucha, we had a plagiarism or a very strong inspiration on TED Talk of Sir Ken Robinson.

After the beer break, the EDP Foundation gave the EDP New Artists Award 2009 to Gabriel Abrantes that made an unexpected presentation for the audience.

(PT) No passado dia 13 Maio ocorreu a sexta edição da PechaKucha Lisbon. Mais de 500 pessoas deslocaram-se à Fundação EDP para assistir a mais um eclético cardápio de apresentações que contou, entre outros, com um concerto rock de 6 minutos e quarenta, um projecto gráfico sobre o conflito israelo-palestiniano, uma aula de música electrónica, pequenos robots que procuram a luz, casas nas árvores, o processo de concepção e montagem de um desfile de moda, cavalos alados em mosaico, desencontros amorosos... Em estreia absoluta, tivemos pela primeira vez na PechaKucha um plágio ou uma inspiração muito forte na TED Talk de Sir Ken Robinson

A Fundação EDP, aproveitando a dinâmica do evento, entregou depois do beer break o Prémio Novos Artistas EDP 2009 a Gabriel Abrantes que fez uma apresentação surpresa para a audiência.

PKNL #6 - THE PROGRAMME

(ENG) Pecha Kucha Lisbon vol.06, which will take place exactly in a month – on the 13th of May – has already defined the speakers programme. Who doesn’t know yet if going to Fátima or to the Electricity Museum to see the PKNL, can check the list of the artists and the related links in the right column of the blog and decide. For now, we can promise a varied list, with architecture, design, plastic arts, performance, fashion design and photography.

The tickets will be available at the box office (on the first floor of the Electricity Museum) from 19h30 and the price is 5€. There are no reservations, so please, show up early. The doors will open at 21h. The conferences will start around 21h30. We are waiting for you!

(PT) A Pecha Kucha Lisbon vol.06, que irá ocorrer exactamente daqui a um mês - dia 13 de Maio - já tem o programa de oradores definido. Quem estiver indeciso entre ir a Fátima ou ao Museu de Electricidade ver a PKNL nesse dia, pode consultar a lista de criadores com os respectivos links na coluna da direita do blog para poder decidir em conformidade. Para já, podemos prometer um cardápio variado com arquitectura, design, artes plásticas, performance, design de moda e fotografia.
Como habitualmente, os bilhetes custarão 5€ e estarão disponiveis à porta a partir das 19h30. Não serão efectuadas reservas, portanto apareçam cedo. A sala abrirá às 21h. As conferências começarão por volta das 21h30. Ficamos à vossa espera.

PKNL #6 :: DATE AND LOCATION

(ENG) Pecha kucha Night Lisbon vol.06 is gaining shape and it already has a location and a date. EDP Foundation /The Electricity Museum open its doors again to PKNL, on the 13thof May.

The main organization of Pecha Kucha, based in Tokyo, never stopped working and they already launched online a blog, where is possible to follow the little stories, the big presentations, the posters and others curiosities of the 177 cities that are already part of the 20images x 20 seconds mania. You can follow, daily, these and other useful information on http://daily.pecha-kucha.org/.
